Cheesecake Brownies

Staring is not nice. I know, It’s hard. Don’t lick the screen either…Please! These thick and gooey brownies topped with a good load of cheesecake are not good to practice self control around.

From last a week i was craving for some nice sweet and gooey dessert, but as you all know, having dessert all day is not a good idea, specially for a person who is trying to lose some pounds. After dying because of my sweet tooth, i finally gave up. Last weekend I grab few raw materials from the pantry and made this heaven.

This recipe is a total killer and the swirling of the cream cheese in these yummy brownie batter gives an extreme pleasure to eye.

For Brownie:

140 g butter

200 g dark chocolate

225 g caster sugar

1 tsp vanilla essence

2 eggs

60 g plain flour

60 g Cocoa

For Cheesecake:

75 g cream cheese

50 g caster sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 egg

75 g plain flour

Preheat the oven to 170°C and line a rectangular baking tin with grease proof paper.

Put the butter, chocolate and sugar into a bowl and microwave until melted, stirring every 30 seconds or so.

Crack in the eggs and vanilla and mix until smooth and glossy.

(Remember to cool down the chocolate-butter mix as you don’t want to cook your eggs).

Add the flour and cocoa into the chocolate mix and beat well.

Pour the brownie batter into the lined baking tin.

Beat the sugar and vanilla into the cream cheese, then beat in the egg and flour to create the cream cheese filling.

Spoon the cream cheese mix into the brownie in blobs.

Use a fork/knife to move the mixture around, creating a marbled effect.

Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes and allow to cool fully in the tin.

Cut into square pieces to serve.
